History of the School

Date of foundation: HGR no. 225/7.03.1990, by which the High Education Institute of Constanţa becomes University, as an independent structure subordinated to the Ministry of Education and the Order of the ME no. 7424 from 20.03.1990, by which appears the university structure and the leading structures of the Faculty of General Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy (since 1992).
The Faculty has gone through progressive and remarkable landmarks since its inception.

In 1990, following the HGR no. 225/7.03.1990, is founded the Faculty of Medicine, with the profile: Medicine.

In 1999 started the University Medical College, with four specializations: General Medicine, Dental Technique, Balneophysiotherapy and Pharmacy. In 1992 started the modules of teaching in English language and, at the Faculty of Pharmacy, in French.

In 2002, the Faculty of Medicine divided in: Faculty of General Medicine and Faculty of Oral Medicine and Pharmacy.

In 2004, , the Faculty of Midwives, with a four years study program.

THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE WOULD SOON BECOME A MEDICAL UNIVERSITY.

Also, the Faculty of Medicine develops postgraduate programs such as: Masters study in:
Normal and Pathological morphology of the anatomical structures, Gastroenterology and hepatology
General surgery.

Residency and postgraduate lectures for medical competences and continuous medical education, according to the Romanian sanitary legislation.

Recognition

The University of Constanta is fully accredited by the Romanian Government.
