Application Procedure

Application Procedure

The four steps below are all that is required for you to apply for admission to the university of your choice.

 Stage A: Submit a completed online application form, pay the application fee and send supporting documents.
 
The supporting documents are:

  • High-School certificate and/or BSc degree transcripts (directly from issuing institution or copy signed by notary) 
  • Proof of application fee payment (bank swift + completed fee transfer form). 
  • Medical note from a certified physician confirming medical condition. 
  • Completed Personal Statement - the length of the personal statement is to be no more than two pages long and double spaced. Explain why you are considering a career in medicine, why you would be an asset to AUA, and significant accomplishments or activities, personal interests, and any additional information that would be useful to the Admissions Committee in evaluating your application. 
  • MCATs are not required. Scores are considered by the Admissions Committee if submitted. 
  • Step I scores for those applicants who took Step I (regardless of passing or failing). 
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score (for foreign students). 
  • Current resume with chronological listing of educational and employment history, 
  • Two letters (one professional one personal) of recommendation from a pre-med advisor, a professor with
    whom the applicant has studied, or a physician with whom the applicant has worked. (Must be sent directly from the writer.) Please visit theinfo-pack to adhere to the standards without exception for the letters of recommendation.

IMS will contact applicants by email to confirm receipt (expect confirmation within one week of receipt of completed materials). Applicants who do not hear from IMS within the specified period can assume that their applications are incomplete. Stage B: Receive a university acceptance/rejection letter or provisional acceptance* letter.
*The provisional acceptance letter means that your admission into the university is pending until all complete documents are submitted.

Stage C: If accepted to the university, pay the registration fee and submit the the following documents:
 completed medical form, CV, official copy of birth certificate (certified by notary), 3 passport photographs to: International Medicine Studies, Vlcie hrdlo 55, 824 12 Bratislava, Slovakia.

Stage D: Pay the tuition fee.
